Apple is actively developing software updates for 2025, including iOS 19, iPadOS 19, macOS 16, and watchOS 12.
Here's What We Know
According to a recent report, Apple has already started working on these next versions of its operating systems, which are likely to be released in autumn 2025. This information indicates that Apple is following its usual development schedule, starting work on future software updates a year before they are released.
- iOS 19: codename "Luck". It is expected to have new features and improvements for the iPhone.
- iPadOS 19: codenamed "Cheer". It is expected to have new features and improvements for iPad.
- macOS 16: codenamed "Cheer". It is expected to have new features and improvements for Mac.
- watchOS 12: codenamed "Nepali". It is expected to have new features and improvements for Apple Watch.
In addition to software updates, Apple also plans to release a number of new hardware products in 2025, including:
- A cheaper version of Apple Vision Pro, which may be called simply "Apple Vision".
- An updated Apple TV set-top box.
- Updated Mac Pro and Mac Studio with M4 Pro, M4 Max and M4 Ultra processors.
