Not deceived, but embellished: the developers of Alkahest explained why the game looks so impressive in the announcement trailer
Last week action-RPG Alkahest was announced, which caused a strong reaction in the gamer community.
Alkahest is a game in the dark fantasy setting, similar in concept to the cult Dark Messiah of Might & Magic by Arkane Studios.
Here's What We Know
The Alkahest trailer looked so impressive, atmospheric and technologically advanced that it was obvious that it didn't quite accurately reflect the gameplay and was slightly embellished - and that's putting it mildly.
A few days after the announcement, the developers from Push On Studios admitted that the footage from the trailer had undergone additional processing and editing to give the game more appeal and attract the public's attention.
The trailer is a pre-rendered action sequence on the game engine, which aims to show the key mechanics and interactions that players will encounter. All elements are presented in the game, but the shooting angles and some animations were created specially for the trailer. Later we plan to show raw footage of gameplay.
Well, it's no secret that many developers resort to such tricks, especially when it comes to announcement trailers, because they create the first impression of the game and should attract maximum attention of gamers.
However, it is important that the shown Alkahest footage was created on the game engine, and not mounted separately for the trailer, as it happened in the case of the most notorious deception in the history of the game industry - with the Russian game The Day Before.
PC Gamer portal reported that Push On is preparing to conduct closed testing of Alkahest in a few months.
It is still unknown the origin of Push On studio, according to unconfirmed reports, it is also a Russian company. Officially, the studio is registered in Cyprus, which may indirectly confirm that the developers belong to the terrorist country. If the Russian origin of the game is confirmed - our edition will not tell about it.
