Something went wrong: due to low sales of the highly-acclaimed platformer Tales of Kenzera: Zau, there have been layoffs at Surgent Studios
At the end of April Surgent studio, founded by famous actor Abubakar Salim, released its debut project - action-platformer Tales of Kenzera: Zau.
The game received high marks, but remained unnoticed by the general public.
Here's What We Know
Unfortunately, the downsizing trend in the game industry has reached Surgent: several developers from the already small studio reported about their dismissal.
So far the studio's management hasn't commented on the redundancy, but considering the low sales of Tales of Kenzera: Zau and the imminent release of the next game, this decision looks sad, but it's quite reasonable from the financial point of view.
Tales of Kenzera: Zau is available on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and Nintendo Switch and is available on the Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium catalogues.
