Samsung is already working on the new Exynos processor that the Galaxy A56 will get
Samsung has started testing a new processor that is expected to be used in the next Galaxy A56 smartphone in 2025.
Here's What We Know
The processor has been codenamed "Santa". This chip is the successor to the Exynos 1480 processor, codenamed "Rose", which is currently used in the Galaxy A55.
The new processor has the model number S5E8855 and will apparently be called Exynos 1580. Samsung is not expected to make any major improvements over the current Exynos 1480, which is found in the Galaxy A55 and has the model number S5E8845. This chip has already performed well compared to its predecessor Exynos 1380 and it is unlikely that the company will make big changes to the mid-range processor 2 years in a row. Although it is possible that Samsung will improve the neural processor in the chip which is responsible for AI performance and the new chip will support some Galaxy AI features. Nevertheless, the official release of the new chip is still a long way off and it won't be until spring 2025 that it will be clear how big the changes in the new Exynos 1580 will be.
