Crabs instead of spiders: Blizzard revealed what the mode for arachnophobes will look like in World of Warcraft
It is no secret that many people experience panic fear at the sight of spiders, and even in virtual space. Therefore, for example, one of the most popular mods for Skyrim is the one that replaces spiders with other creatures.
Since in the future add-on The War Within for World of Warcraft players will go to the underground depths of Azeroth, where lives a race of Nerubians (Nerubian), which are essentially anthropomorphic spiders, the developers from Blizzard reasonably thought that many gamers will be uncomfortable.
Here's What We Know
Back in April, Blizzard announced that The War Within would feature an option for arachnophobes and, finally, the developers have shown what it will look like.
It turned out to be simple: when activating this option, the models of all spider-like creatures will be replaced by crabs. Moreover, this applies even to the flying monster.
In terms of gameplay, they will have the same abilities and characteristics, as well as for them will be set the same hit boxes as their fellow spiders.
Many gamers in the comments have reasonably noted that crabs look even creepier than non-Rubians and are jokingly asking what to do for people who are afraid of both spiders and crabs.
The option for arachnophobes will appear in World of Warcraft on 26 August - along with the release of The War Within addon.
