IPS screen is cancelled: Samsung Galaxy Flip 6 has both displays made with AMOLED technology
Ahead of the presentation of the new foldable smartphone Galaxy Flip 6, which will be held on 10 July in Paris, information about the technical specifications of the device appeared in the network, where it was mentioned about the possible use of IPS-display for the external screen. But as it turned out, this information was incorrect.
Here's What We Know
Earlier leaked marketing materials pointed to an external IPS screen in the Flip 6, which caused discontent among fans of the brand, but it turned out to be a typo by a company employee. Sources have confirmed to our colleagues at SamMobile that the Flip 6 has an AMOLED screen both inside and outside. The Flip 6's outer screen is expected to be identical to the Flip 5 with a 3.4-inch diagonal and 60Hz refresh rate.
According to the latest leaks, the Galaxy Flip 6 will get Qualcomm's latest flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, 8GB and 12GB RAM model variants, a 50MP main camera and a 4,000mAh battery, which is 300mAh more than the Flip 5.
The smartphone will run on Android 14 and One UI 6.1.1 with new Galaxy AI features, which are expected to be available on existing devices through a software update. The Fold 6 and Flip 6 are also expected to support OS and security updates for seven years.
