New update for Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra camera: improvements to HDR, white balance and image processing
While the Galaxy S24 Ultra's camera is already great, Samsung isn't resting on its laurels and plans to release an update next month that will further improve its capabilities.
Here's What We Know
According to reliable insider Ice Universe, the August 2024 update will focus on the following aspects:
- HDR: Improved dynamic range for more detailed shots in difficult lighting conditions.
- White balance: More accurate colour reproduction in all lighting conditions.
- Overexposure: Reduce the occurrence of overexposed shots.
- Processing: Create a more natural and pleasing appearance to images.
- Video upscaling: Improved smoothness and clarity when shooting zoomed-in videos.
Image quality at zooms over 10x will not be improved, Ice Universe notes that Samsung continues to work on improving its zoom algorithms. This may lead to improved zoom image quality in future updates or phone models.
The Galaxy S24 Ultra's new camera changes are just one of many improvements expected on the Galaxy S25 Ultra's successor. The phone is rumoured to feature a 200-megapixel primary camera, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera, two 50-megapixel telephoto cameras with 3x and 5x optical zoom.
