Variety: Arkham series, which was supposed to be a prequel to the Batman film (2022), is no longer in development
A series about the Arkham Asylum was in development, which was supposed to be a prequel to the Batman film (2022) with Robert Pattinson. The series was announced back in 2020, but we will probably never see it.
Here's What We Know
Variety reports that no one else is working on the series. It has had a difficult journey. Initially, the series was supposed to be about the Gotham police, but later the story was reworked to be about Arkham Asylum. Then it became known that the events take place in the main DC cinematic universe, and the showrunners of the project changed as fast as Batman throws his betarangs.
Nevertheless, according to Variety, we may still see a series about Arkham in the future, but definitely not in the next year or two.
However, we will not be left without new content in the world of Matt Reeves' Batman, as the Penguin series will premiere in September.
