Beyond Good & Evil 20th Anniversary Edition reportedly has performance issues on Xbox Series and PlayStation 5 consoles
Recently, Beyond Good & Evil: 20th Anniversary Edition was released, and although it received positive reviews, it did not become very popular among gamers. Probably, this "unpopularity" of the game could be influenced by performance issues: from the very beginning, Ubisoft stated that the game would support 4K at 60 FPS on consoles, but how does the game actually work on Xbox Series and PlayStation 5?
Here's What We Know
According to the analysis published by Digital Foundry, the game mostly does NOT run at 4K and 60 FPS, and sometimes, thanks to the double V-sync buffer, the frame rate can drop even to 30 frames per second, which already creates some discomfort when playing. If you turn on the performance mode, which reduces the resolution to 1440p, the frame rate drop will almost stop, but it won't disappear completely.
Interestingly, on Xbox Series S, the game runs only in 1440p and 60 FPS, and, of course, has similar problems with frame rate drops, with no "30 FPS" option.
Where To Play
In addition to home consoles, Beyond Good & Evil: 20th Anniversary Edition is available on Nintendo Switch and PC.
