The city-building simulator Cities Skylines 2 was released in October 2023 and immediately faced huge difficulties. This is primarily due to the poor technical state of the game, because of which it was heavily criticised and the developers had to urgently correct the situation.

Colossal Order studio is making great efforts to save its own reputation and the poor quality of the game and released major patches, but because of this the developers had to postpone the release of the console versions of Cities Skylines 2.

Here's What We Know

On the forum of the publisher Paradox Interactive published a message, which says that the company is not sure that it will have time to release in October versions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series.

The thing is that Colossal Order has not yet ready a preliminary build of console versions of Cities Skylines 2, and without it the company can not plan its next steps.

In August the studio will try to re-certify the console versions, but considering that there are still a lot of problems in them, it's unlikely to succeed.

The developers apologise for another bad news, but they believe that it will be better than releasing low-quality ports.

At the moment Cities Skylines 2 is only available on Steam, where it is receiving mixed reviews.
