The first poster for Gladiator 2 has been unveiled - the debut trailer will be released on 9 July

Tomorrow - 9 July - Paramount Pictures will present the first trailer of the historical film "Gladiator 2", which will be a sequel to the famous film of 2000, starring Russell Crowe.

To heat up the interest of the public, the creators of the film published an atmospheric poster, which depicts the main character Lucius played by Paul Mescal. It seems that he is standing in the gladiatorial arena and preparing for another fight.

The film is directed by Ridley Scott, the author of the original film, which won five Oscars and many other awards.

Here's What The Movie Is About

The plot of "Gladiator 2" unfolds 20 years after the events of the previous part and focuses on Lucius - the nephew of the Roman Emperor Commodus.

He was raised outside the Roman Empire by his mother Lucilla. Lucilla wanted to protect him, but the son feels a great resentment towards his mother and is hurt that she abandoned him away from home.

Lucius now has a wife and child and lives a peaceful life until Roman invaders invade their territory. The troops are led by Marcus Acacius (played by Pedro Pascal), whose mentor was the gladiator Maximus, the protagonist of the first film.

Lucius becomes Marcus' prisoner and will have only two options - become a slave or die in the gladiatorial arena.

When We Can Expect It

The film will premiere on 22 November 2024 in cinemas worldwide.
