Microsoft has implemented the ability to run games from the Xbox ecosystem on TVs with connected Amazon Fire TV devices.

Here's What We Know

A new Microsoft option is available to residents of 25 countries today (from 9 July): using Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Max and Fire TV Stick 4K devices, you can stream games to TVs.

Amazon Fire TV owners need to have a Microsoft account, an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription and a Bluetooth wireless controller, and it's emphasised that the gamepad doesn't have to be from Xbox, the DualSense from PS5, DualShock from PS4 and other Bluetooth controllers will also work.

Games on Amazon Fire TV run via cloud streaming, hence the need for a constant internet connection.

Those who pay for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for the first time will get a discounted monthly rate.

Flashback

Amazon Fire TVs are small networked devices that deliver digital media content streamed over the internet to a connected high-definition TV. They allow you to watch TV shows and films through apps such as Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime and many others. Different models are currently available, including the Fire TV Stick Lite, Fire TV Stick 4K, and more.
