Developers Palworld and Sony Music Entertainment have launched a joint company, Palworld Entertainment, to develop the franchise
The shooter Palworld was released in early 2024, struck the community with colossal popularity (peak online in Steam exceeded 2 million people) and fulfilled two old dreams of many gamers: it provided a worthy replacement for Pokémon on PC and showed what would happen if such fantastic creatures were given firearms.
Palworld caused a mixed reaction from the public, primarily because of the obvious plagiarism of Pokémon and a number of other games, but the developers from Pocketpair continue to develop the brand and even got the support of Sony.
Here's What We Know
Pocketpair, Sony Music Entertainment Japan and Aniplex subsidiary Aniplex have announced the launch of Palworld Entertainment, a joint venture to expand the franchise.
So far, the newly formed company will focus on the release of toys and various merchandise with images of creatures from Palworld. The first such toys will go on sale on 12 July at the Bilibili World 2024 event in Shanghai.
It is likely that in the future Palworld Entertainment will release other projects, such as anime, TV series and other media content.
Recall, from the hint of Pocketpair's community manager it became known that a version of Palword for PlayStation 5 is in development.
