Netherlands allocates another 300 million euros to purchase ammunition for Ukrainian F-16 Fighting Falcon fighters

In March, it became known that the Netherlands would transfer €150m worth of armament for Ukrainian F-16 Fighting Falcon fighters. Now the country's defence ministry has announced an additional package.

Here's What We Know

The new package is designed for €300 million. Unfortunately, there is no information yet about what kind of armament will be purchased for the aircraft and when the deliveries will start. By the way, Ukraine is to receive 80 F-16 Fighting Falcon fighters from its partners: 6 aircraft will be delivered by Norway, 19 by Denmark, 25 by the Netherlands and 30 by Belgium. The first fighters should appear in Ukraine in the near future.

F-16 Fighting Falcon is a multifunctional light fighter of the fourth generation. It was developed by the American company General Dynamics. Due to its versatility and low cost, the F-16 is a success on the international market. It is in service with 24 countries. The F-16 is the most mass-produced fourth-generation fighter. As of 2009, more than 4,400 have been built and in 2016, more than 2,500 were in service.
