Several atmospheric screenshots of the VR game Metro Awakening have been presented: the developers promise to preserve the main features of the popular franchise
PlayStation.Blog has published a piece on the upcoming innovations for virtual reality headsets. Among them the main star was the game Metro Awakening, which will be a prequel to Metro 2033.
Here's What We Know
The article published three screenshots, on which you can see weapons, dungeon and one of the monsters that inhabit the underground of post-nuclear Moscow.
The game is being developed by Vertigo Games in collaboration with Metro franchise creator Dmitry Glukhovsky, who was sentenced to 8 years in prison in absentia by a Russian court for calling for a halt to the war in Ukraine and criticising the actions of the government.
The developers promise to bring the tactility of Metro games to VR: players will be able to interact with many objects, extinguish light sources, pick up various objects and perform other actions.
When We Can Expect It
Metro Awakening is expected to release in late 2024 on PSVR2, Meta Quest 2/3 and Steam VR.
Metro Awakening pre-orders will open in September.
