Galaxy Ring does not require a monthly subscription
Ahead of the Galaxy Ring release, many feared that Samsung would force users to pay for a subscription to get access to all the ring's features.
Here's What We Know
However, Samsung has no plans to introduce a subscription model for the Galaxy Ring.
As a reminder, the Galaxy Ring was unveiled at Galaxy Unpacked in Paris alongside other new products, including the Galaxy Fold 6, Galaxy Flip 6, and Galaxy Watch 7.
This model uses the same strategy as Oura for its third generation of smartwatches, and it seems to have paid off.
The Galaxy Ring offers a number of interesting features such as gesture control, sleep tracking, and heart rate monitoring. This data can then be used to get an estimate of your workout readiness and other health reports.
While some had expected Samsung to offer more features via subscription, there's no reason to believe that will be the case at this time.
On the other hand, Samsung is likely to add many other features to the Galaxy Ring in the future. The ring uses Samsung's BioActive sensor, which opens up the possibility of expanding its functionality beyond basic sleep tracking.
The Galaxy Ring is now available for pre-order on Samsung's online store and at select authorised retailers for prices starting at USD 399.
