YouTube continues to improve its Shorts platform to compete with Instagram and TikTok and announces several new features.
Here's What We Know
- Add Your Own Sticker: This sticker, similar to the one found on Instagram, allows users to add prompts to their Shorts to encourage creativity and interaction. For example, you can invite viewers to share their latest trick with the dog or their first photo with their partner. The sticker will be available in Shorts over the next few weeks.
- Automatic subtitling and editing: Shorts users will be able to add and edit automatically generated subtitles to their videos. This will allow them to choose different colours and fonts to make the subtitles better match the visuals. The feature is coming soon.
- Speech Synthesis: This tool allows users to add text to their Shorts after recording. Select the Add Voice icon to choose one of the four available voices to speak your text.
- Auto Layout (Android only): This new feature for Android users allows you to automatically track the subject of your video as it's being recorded.
These updates show that YouTube is committed to making Shorts more user-friendly and engaging for content creators, giving them more tools to create better videos and reach a wider audience.
