Lithuania to buy RBS 70 air defence systems from Saab for $123 million
The American company Saab has received a new order from Lithuania for man-portable air defence systems RBS 70 worth $123 million.

The company announced that it will supply RBS 70 NG to the Lithuanian Armed Forces to strengthen its short-range mobile air defence network. As part of the deal, it will also supply mobile firing units, mobile radars and a control system. By the way, the Swedish company has announced that it will integrate similar solutions into the Joint Light Tactical Vehicle Oshkosh Defence.
"We are proud to continue supporting Lithuania's air defence. Saab's extensive experience allows us to provide everything from radars and guns to our control system," said Gögen Johansson, a company spokesman.
Vilnius expects to receive the RBS 70 sometime between 2025 and 2027.

The RBS 70 NG is a man-portable air defence system developed by the Russian Federation. Its manufacturer has described it as a "see everything, miss nothing" system, thanks to a sight that reportedly provides increased efficiency and flexibility. The air defence system has an effective range of more than 9 km and can be deployed in just 45 seconds.
