Games will help rebuild the destroyed Ohmatdyt children's hospital in Kyiv: 11 bit, GSC Game World, Wargaming and other developers have transferred significant sums to Ukraine
When some time ago Polish publishing house 11 bit announced and then released a game by a Russian developer - it caused sharp criticism and bewilderment of a huge number of gamers, especially Ukrainian gamers.
Yes, the developers of Odd Meter studio in full left the territory of the aggressor country, spoke out categorically against the war unleashed by Russia in Ukraine and publicly demonstrated disagreement with Putin's regime and condemned it.
Nevertheless, many countries have such a negative attitude towards Russians and everything connected with this country that the support of the Polish game publisher Indika has caused a storm of condemnation.
Here's What We Know
On 8 July, Ukraine was subjected to another brutal rocket attack, targeting not just civilian objects, but even the central children's clinical hospital Ohmatdyt, which treats children with the most serious diseases from all over the country.
A direct hit by an Kh-101 cruise missile destroyed several buildings of the hospital, leaving children, parents and medical staff under the rubble.
This war crime struck the whole world. Many states, citizens, companies and public organisations provided financial support to the victims and donated large amounts of money to rebuild the hospital.
The 11 bit publishing house also joined this trend. Poles reported that they consider it necessary to donate $50,000 from the sale of Indika to the reconstruction of the hospital.
We can not fail to mention that other developers supported the initiative and transferred large sums to restore the medical centre. Thus, the Ukrainian company GSC Game World - the developer of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series. - The international company Wargaming (developers of World of Tanks and World of Warships), which has long ago severed all ties with Russia and Belarus, donated almost $100,000 to Okhmatdit.
As a Ukrainian publication, we sincerely thank everyone who supports Ukraine in these difficult hours.
