In early August, the public will be presented with a full gameplay trailer of the remake of the Gothic role-playing game
THQ Nordic has previously announced that it will hold its own Digital Showcase broadcast on 2 August, where it will show trailers of Gothic 1 Remake, Titan Quest II and other new products.
Here's What We Know
The developers of the Gothic remake held another podcast, where they shared interesting details about the process of updating the cult 2001 game from Piranha Bytes studio, which seems to be already closed.
The gamedesigners revealed that before embarking on the active production phase, they conducted a thorough analysis of every element of Gothic to see which ones were outdated and needed to be replaced, and which ones were better left in their original form.
The staff of Alkimia Interactive are working hard to ensure that the overall concept of the game does not change when changing certain aspects, as they realise that the developers from Piranha Bytes did not do anything for nothing, and there were justifications for all their artistic decisions.
There are around 30 people working on the remake, but some of the tasks are being outsourced to third-party studios to speed up the workflow and to increase the diversity of the hundreds of characters.
During the podcast, the developers confirmed that the public will finally see a full gameplay trailer of Gothic 1 Remake at the THQ Nordic Digital Showcase.
The updated game will be available on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series.
