It's been four years since Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time was released, and fans are eagerly awaiting the next instalment. However, there are rumours that the next Crash game may have been quietly cancelled.

Here's What We Know

Nicholas Kole, the artist who worked on Spyro Reignited Trilogy and Crash Bandicoot 4 at Toys for Bob, hinted on Twitter about the cancelled project he had been working on for three years, called Project Dragon. He also mentioned "the Crash 5 that never was", hinting that the cancellation of this game will disappoint many.

Kole clarified that Crash 5 and Project Dragon were separate projects in different studios.

2024 was an important year for Toys for Bob. After significant cutbacks in February under Microsoft's leadership, the studio announced its independence from Activision and Microsoft later in the year. Despite this, the next Toys for Bob game, rumoured to be Spyro 4, will still be released by Microsoft.
