Yesterday we reported that the servers of Disney media holding company were subjected to a hacker attack, as a result of which the attackers allegedly stole 1.1TB of confidential data.

Disney does not comment on the situation, but indirectly the fact of hacking is confirmed by leaked information about the unannounced game codenamed Project Macondo.

Here's What We Know

Inside information about the sequel to Aliens: Fireteam Elite, a 2021 co-operative action game developed by Cold Iron Studio in collaboration with Disney, has appeared online. The game didn't receive widespread popularity, but that doesn't seem to have hindered the development of its sequel.

Project Macondo's documentation states that Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 will offer players an "epic story" that can be completed in company with other users or accompanied by virtual partners.

Gamers will once again have to take control of a squad of elite infantrymen who will engage in battle with the "Aliens". The heroes will have a unique set of weapons and several individual abilities. According to the leak, the game will have a new survival mode.

Apparently, the developers have not confirmed the final scope of the game, so far 10 missions, 13 weapons and 9 types of opponents are planned. Ideas for five playable characters have already been developed, but it is indicated that in case of production problems, the number can be reduced to three.

When We Can Expect It

According to the disclosed documents, Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 is scheduled for release in the third quarter of 2025 on PC, PlayStation and Xbox.
