Huawei plans to release the world's first triple-fold smartphone within two months.

Here's What We Know

According to information from insider Fixed Focus Digital, the device will be expensive and released in limited quantities. This smartphone is expected to be a demonstration of the company's technological capabilities rather than immediately capturing the market. The device could replace both the iPad and current foldable phones.

Huawei's patent is for a triple bend smartphone

The screen size is rumoured to be around 10 inches and the design will include a unique dual-hinge system that creates three separate sections of the screen. One section will fold inwards on both sides, while the other two will fold outwards. Huawei has also reportedly improved fold control, which is an ongoing problem with foldable displays.

The company started applying for patents for this technology back in 2021 and a patent was filed in 2023 for a triple folding phone with two hinges and a flexible screen, just like the one discussed above.
