According to the latest leak, the Pixel 9 Pro may come with 1-year Gemini Advanced support.

Here's What We Know

This information comes from APK Insight, which decompiles Android apps to find clues about upcoming features.

Flashback

APK Insight is a website and resource that specialises in detecting and analysing changes to Android mobile applications. Their team uses a process called decompilation to reveal the code of these apps. Decompilation is the process of converting Android bytecode (written in Java) into a human-readable format such as C++ or Python.

In the beta version of Google's 15.28 app, a line of text was found that reads: "Your Pixel Pro gives you free access to a 1-year subscription to Gemini Advanced, our most powerful AI model with priority access to new features."

Google's use of "Pixel Pro" to refer to the Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro, and Pixel 9 Pro Fold suggests that all three phones are eligible for this subscription. Gemini Advanced will be required to access the Gemini Live conversational experience, which is likely to be one of the main AI features for the Pixel 9 series.

Gemini Advanced subscribers also get 2 TB of storage in Google One. The subscription costs $240 per year, but Pixel 9 Pro buyers will get it for free for a year.

The Pixel 9 may also come with a 6-month free trial of Gemini Advanced. This suggests that Google may offer different subscription levels for different Pixel 9 models.

Official information on which Pixel 9 models will come with Gemini Advanced support and for how long will be announced closer to the release date.
