Claude chatbot by Anthropic is available as an Android app
Anthropic has announced that its Claude chatbot is now available as an Android app. Following the release of the free iOS app in May, Android owners can now also communicate with the company's AI on their mobile devices.
Here's What We Know
The Android app is free and compatible with the Pro and Team paid plans. Users can have conversations with Claude on their devices, as well as synchronise conversations with the web version and iOS app.
Claude is one of several broadcast AI chatbots currently available to the public. OpenAI and its ChatGPT tool usually receive the most attention. ChatGPT is also available in the form of Android and iOS apps, and it underpins many features of the new Apple Intelligence.
However, Claude may have some advantages. According to Anthropic, the Claude 3 version of the platform performed better than ChatGPT and Google Gemini in some key tests. The Claude 3 Opus version received the highest score in March, and the Sonnet 3.5 version repeated this success in June. Of course, such comparisons coming from the companies themselves should be treated with caution.
The Claude app for Android offers:
- A multilingual chatbot
- Synchronisation of conversations across all devices
- Access to Pro and Team paid plans
- Text generation, translation, and coding capabilities
- Image analysis (uploading images or taking photos directly in the app)
