Samsung is constantly improving the security of its Galaxy devices, and the release of One UI 6.1.1 is no exception. The latest update includes improvements to the Auto Blocker feature that was introduced last year. These improvements are aimed at making your data even more secure from threats.

Here's What's New About It

  • Enhanced control: In One UI 6.0 and 6.1, you could turn individual Auto Blocker features on and off. This feature has been removed from One UI 6.1.1.
  • Enhanced authentication: To disable Auto Blocker, you will now need to authenticate with biometrics, making it harder for attackers or unwanted parties to disable it.
  • Maximum Restrictions Mode: This new mode offers the highest level of protection, but some phone features, such as apps with administrator privileges and shared albums, will not be available.
  • Improved app security check: This feature, which is now part of the Maximum Restrictions mode, helps detect potentially malicious apps.

Overall, One UI 6.1.1 is a significant security update for Galaxy phones. With the improved Auto Blocker features and the new Maximum Restrictions mode, Samsung owners' data will be even better protected.

Here's How It Works

Auto Blocker has five main security features:

  • Blocks apps from unauthorised sources: This feature prevents apps from being installed on your phone from sources other than the Google Play Store or Galaxy Store.
  • Blocks commands via USB cable: This feature prevents malicious commands from being sent to your phone via the USB cable.
  • Blocks software updates via USB cable: This feature prevents malicious software updates from being installed on your phone via the USB cable.
  • Protects your messaging application: This feature helps protect your messaging application from malicious links and attachments.
  • Enables app security scanning: This feature helps you detect potentially harmful apps on your phone.

How To Switch It On

To enable Auto Blocker, do the following:

  • Open Settings on your phone.
  • Go to Privacy & security, Auto Blocker.
  • Turn on the Auto Blocker switch.
