Capcom has recently joined other companies in porting its AAA console games to iOS devices, but the results are disappointing. Earlier it was reported that the iOS versions of Resident Evil Village and the remake of Resident Evil 4 were commercially unsuccessful. Now it has become known that Resident Evil 7 is facing similar problems.

Here's What We Know

According to a report by Mobilegamer.biz, Appmagic estimates that Resident Evil 7 has been downloaded just over 83,000 times since its release for iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and iPad devices with an M1 chip or later earlier this month.

Revenue from the iOS version has so far reached only $28,140, which means less than 2,000 full copies of the game have been sold (note: Resident Evil 7 is free to download on iOS, but you need to purchase the full game to play it).

Whether Capcom and other companies will continue to release major AAA games for mobile devices remains to be seen. So far, such releases seem to have limited appeal on iOS platforms.
