Satellite communication support could soon be coming to several Samsung Galaxy smartphones. Judging by the latest leaks, the company is customising its apps like Emergency SOS and Samsung Messages to support this technology.

Here's What We Know

Satellite connectivity will allow smartphones to communicate via Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites. While Samsung has not officially confirmed which models will get the feature, it is expected to be flagship devices with the latest chipsets.

Unlike Apple, which limits satellite communication to emergency messages, Samsung can offer more features including short voice messages and two-way communication. However, satellite communication consumes more power than cellular, so the company may limit its use.

Samsung's app code, as shown above, already has lines related to satellite communication, indicating that the company will introduce this innovation soon. Samsung is expected to gradually develop its own solutions to integrate this technology into its Galaxy One UI ecosystem.
