Ubisoft report surprises: online games Skull & Bones and XDefiant have "exceeded company expectations" and are performing well

Ubisoft has unveiled its financial report for the first quarter of the current fiscal year and it will surprise those who were sceptical about the French publisher's recent releases.

  • The pirate action game Skull & Bones, around which there was a lot of negativity in the media and among gamers, shows good player engagement, and the revenue per user figure continues to grow.
  • Conditional free-to-play shooter XDefiant was also successful. Ubisoft notes that its launch results even "exceeded the company's expectations". It attracted more than 11 million players.
  • The release of Rainbow Six Mobile and The Division Resurgence games has been postponed to the next fiscal year (after 1 April 2025).
  • The implementation of the agreement to add Activision Blizzard games to the Ubisoft+ catalogue will begin at the end of the current fiscal year.
  • Ubisoft's profits in the first quarter of the current fiscal year totalled €290 million.
