AMD claims that its top-of-the-line Ryzen AI chip is faster than Apple's M3 Pro
AMD has unveiled its latest Ryzen AI chips, built on the Zen 5 architecture, in an attempt to compete with Apple's MacBook processors.
Here's What We Know
At a recent event in Los Angeles, the company claimed that its new chips outperform the Apple M3 and M3 Pro in multitasking, image processing and gaming. AMD claims its new Ryzen chip is 15 per cent faster than the M3 Pro in the Cinebench test and can support up to four displays, unlike the MacBook Air, which is limited to two displays.
However, journalists at the event were unable to fully test or verify these claims, which leaves questions about the chips' actual performance.
The new Ryzen AI chips will debut in Asus laptops on 28 July, marking an important moment for AMD in the competitive notebook processor market. The success or failure of this offering could impact the future of the x86 architecture in notebooks, especially with the growing popularity of Apple's M-series chips and Qualcomm's Snapdragon X processors.
