Digital copies of games have been prevailing over physical versions for years. Some companies release games on disc only as special editions. However, at least Capcom will continue to release at least some of its releases on discs.

Here's What We Know

Capcom said during the conversation with investors that a significant number of end users have a demand for physical games. And the company does not plan to abandon physical releases.

However, analyst Daniel Ahmad wrote that the only problem with this statement is that 90.1% of Capcom's software sales last year were made digitally, and this year is expected to reach 93.2%.

For example, the game Capcom Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess, which was released in July 2024, received only a digital release. Therefore, it is likely that Capcom will release only large projects such as Resident Evil on discs.
