The promised Swedish-Dutch CV90 infantry fighting vehicles will arrive in Ukraine no earlier than 2026
The Netherlands will produce 180 CV90 armoured infantry fighting vehicles for Ukraine, the purchase of which was financed by the Swedes, the Dutch and the Danes. However, deliveries will not begin until 2026, as the plant responsible for production is yet to be built.
Here's What We Know
According to the signed contract, Sweden, Denmark and the Netherlands will provide funds for the total production of 230 CV90s, of which 50 will be manufactured in Sweden and will replace the Strf 9040C vehicles previously transferred to Ukraine.
The plan is to produce at least 180 units. Kai Leers, a spokesperson for the Dutch Ministry of Defence, told Defence News that it will be at least partially produced in the Netherlands.
Van Halteren Technologies will be responsible for its implementation, and negotiations are underway to transfer technology and establish a supply chain. Therefore, the first CV90 for Ukraine will be delivered only in 2026.
