Meta introduces Llama 3.1: the largest and most accessible open source AI model available
Meta has unveiled a new artificial intelligence model, Llama 3.1, which is the world's largest open source AI model.
Here's What We Know
This model has improved reasoning skills and logical capabilities, allowing it to solve complex problems such as mathematical equations, coding and debugging. Llama 3.1 also supports improved image generation, allowing users to create avatars by analysing their faces.
One of the key benefits of Llama 3.1 is its availability to developers, who can implement and deploy the model without restrictions. Meta claims that Llama 3.1 is faster and more efficient than other flagship AI models such as GPT-4 and Claude 3.5. It also costs half the price of the GPT-4o, making it more cost-effective to deploy in production.
The Llama 3.1 model is already available for Meta AI chatbot users on various platforms including WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram and Messenger. Meta AI, as before, remains free for users.
