According to a leak from iOS 18 beta 4, Apple Music is planning to introduce a new feature that will allow users to generate playlist covers using artificial intelligence. This feature will be integrated with Image Playground, an artificial intelligence tool presented at WWDC 2024.

Here's What We Know

Image Playground allows users to create images using text commands. Thanks to this integration, Apple Music will be able to generate unique and personalised playlist covers based on the description or title of a playlist.

Although the feature is still in development, it is expected to offer users a wide range of styles and options, including animations, illustrations, and thumbnails. This will greatly expand the possibilities for customising playlists compared to the current image library available in iOS 17.1.

Given that Apple Intelligence was not included in the iOS 18 beta, and Bloomberg 's report that some AI features will be delayed until 2025, it's likely that this new Apple Music feature will be delayed until iOS 18.1 or later.

iOS 18 is expected to be released this autumn. The public beta is already available for testing, and the final release will take place in the coming months.
