Samsung is renowned for its creative ways of promoting new Galaxy devices, and its latest campaign in the UK is likely to go viral. On Old Street in north-east London, the company cut a single-storey bus in half to celebrate the launch of the Galaxy Fold 6 and Galaxy Flip 6.

Here's What We Know

This is not a real bus that has been cut in half, nor is it the result of Sketch to Image (which you can learn more about in our Fold 6 review). It is a folded bus shape created by artist Caspar Phillips using recycled materials from real London buses.

When folded, the bus measures 6 by 6.2 metres, and its rear end rises 6 metres above the ground. The bus took two months to design and manufacture.

In addition to the strange shape of the bus, Samsung has installed other folded artworks in the Old Street area as part of its "Fold Town" art project. This includes a folding bench, a red phone box, and a lamppost that folds to almost three metres. These additional folding objects were designed and created by Jem Hughes.

Samsung has temporarily renamed Old Street tube station to Fold Street. For this purpose, Samsung collaborated with TfL (Transport for London).

This is not the first time Samsung and TfL have made temporary changes to the London Underground. Earlier this year, they updated the Tube map to promote Circle to Search.

"Welcome to Fold Town!" said marketing director Annika Bison.

Samsung claims that the Fold Town art installation will last until 27 July. The Galaxy Fold 6 and Flip 6 were officially released on 24 July after a two-week pre-order period.

The Galaxy Flip 6 starts at £1049, while the Galaxy Fold 6 costs £1799 and more. The base models of both phones have 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
