Bell offers Ukraine to buy 407M light attack helicopters

The US company Bell Helicopter has offered Ukraine to buy 407M light attack helicopters for the AFU.

This was announced by the director of the company Jeffrey Schloesser during the exhibition Farnborough International Airshow 2024, reports Janes. Unfortunately, it is still unknown at what stage the negotiations are at and whether Ukraine is interested in buying.

"“We have been working to sell the 407M globally, and have been in discussions with Ukraine,” Schloesser said".

Bell 407M is a military version of the Bell 407 multirole helicopter developed by the American company Bell Helicopter. The helicopter is characterised by high manoeuvrability and reliability. It is equipped with a Rolls-Royce 250-C47B gas turbine engine. The Bell 407M is designed to perform a variety of missions, including reconnaissance, troop and cargo transport, medical evacuation and fire support.

It has state-of-the-art avionics and navigation systems. The Bell 407M can be armed with a variety of weapons including Hydra unguided or guided APKWS missiles and AGM-114 Hellfire anti-tank missiles.
