The new Pixel 9 series may not get the USB-A to USB-C adapter that was previously included with previous Pixels

According to a recent leak, Google Pixel 9 will be the first smartphone in the series to come without a Quick Switch Adapter (USB-A-to-C adapter).

Here's What We Know

It will only come with the phone itself, a USB-C to USB-C (USB 2.0) cable, and a SIM card removal tool. This change is due to the fact that most modern devices already use USB-C and the adapter has become less relevant.

Google is probably keen to reduce electronic waste and recognises that USB-C has become more mainstream. However, it's worth noting that this is just a leak and things could change by the time of the official launch, which is scheduled for 13 August. It's also possible that the bundling could vary depending on the model and market. We'll get the final answers at the Made by Google event in Mountain View, California.
