Google strengthens file upload security in Chrome

Google has announced new security features for its popular Chrome browser. Users will now receive additional protection when downloading files.

The new system classifies files as "suspicious" or "dangerous", which allows the browser to block potentially harmful downloads. For files classified as "suspicious", an in-depth scan will be run to detect even the most complex threats.

The developers paid special attention to protecting against encrypted archives. If a file is hidden in an archive, the user will be prompted to enter a password to scan it. This will allow the browser to check the contents of the archive for malware. Thanks to these innovations, Chrome users can be confident in the security of their devices.

Google claims that files that are sent for a deep scan are more than 50 times more likely to be found to be malicious.
