Russia has increased production of Kh-101: how many missiles do they have?
The Defence Intelligence of Ukraine has reported that the Russian defence industry has increased the production of Kh-101 cruise missiles.
Here's What We Know
The LIGA.net media outlet submitted a request to the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine's press service, which explained that Russia currently produces about 50 such missiles per month. However, earlier, in April this year, the DIU reported that Russia could produce about 40 Kh-101 cruise missiles per month. Thus, the rate has increased by 10 missiles per month or 120 per year.
At the same time, in 2023, the Russian defence industry produced 460 Kh-101 missiles, or about 38 missiles per month. Given the increase in production, Russia can now produce about 600 missiles a year.
The GUR also reports that at the beginning of the full-scale invasion in February 2022, Russia had 440 Kh-101s, and today it has about 160 of these missiles in its stockpile. The agency noted that the Russian Federation imports about 90% of Western-made parts and equipment for the manufacture of Kh-101 cruise missiles through China.
In addition, Russia is learning to improve its missiles. For example, earlier it became known that the Russians had begun production of the Kh-101 with two warheads. That is, now this missile has two separate warheads: a conventional high-explosive warhead and one with cubic elements that hit targets.
