Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon was the first FromSoftware studio game in almost 15 years that was not made in the souls-like genre. The mecha action game was released in August 2023 and received high marks from critics and excellent reviews from gamers.

Here's What We Know

Japanese developers are sincerely grateful to gamers for the interest in Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon and reported that its sales exceeded three million copies.

Yes, against the backdrop of Elden Ring, this result looks a bit modest, but one must take into account not only the niche nature of games of this genre (mecha action), but also the fact that the Armored Core franchise, which began back in 1997, is virtually unknown outside of Japan. Both FromSoftware and Bandai Namco consider the release of the sixth instalment to be a commercial success and have no plans to end the series.

By the way, recently there was unconfirmed information that FromSoftware is already working on a sequel to Armored Core or creating an add-on for Fires of Rubicon, for which they are looking for a specialist in modelling combat robots.
