The developers of the two parts of the highly regarded metroidvania Blasphemous are hinting at some kind of imminent announcement. Perhaps gamers will be presented with DLC for Blasphemous 2
The Game Kitchen studio, known for two instalments of the highly acclaimed indie metroidvania Blasphemous has intrigued fans of its games.
Here's What We Know
A cryptic message appeared on the game's X page, urging you to keep an eye on the news so that you don't miss some kind of announcement that will be made in the near future.
Since the second part of Blasphemous was released only a year ago, it's unlikely that the small team has made enough progress in the development of the third part (if such plans even exist). Most likely, gamers will be expecting DLC or a major update for Blasphemous 2. In favour of this is also the appeal "listen carefully, Penitent One" - that's how the main character of Blasphemous was called, therefore, it will definitely not be a completely different game.
As a reminder, the first part of Blasphemous was released in 2019, the second part, as mentioned, in 2023. Both parts are characterised by an extremely dark visual style with biblical motifs, high difficulty, non-obvious mechanics and confusing locations. The games received high praise from critics and gamers, so The Game Kitchen has no reason not to continue the franchise.
Well, we wait to see what the developers will surprise Blasphemous fans with, perhaps the announcement will be timed to coincide with the fifth anniversary of the first part (September) or the anniversary of Blasphemous 2 (24 August).
