Since the second half of the year, Samsung has been actively working on new phone models for next year. Some of these entry-level and mid-range devices could be introduced at the end of 2024. One of these devices is the Galaxy A06, whose design was leaked several months before the official announcement.

Here's What We Know

The design of the Galaxy A06 includes the Key Island element that debuted on the Galaxy A35 and Galaxy A55 earlier this year. This confirms that Samsung will continue to use Key Island in its 2025 smartphone lineup. High-resolution renders and dimensions of the Galaxy A06 were published by GizNext in partnership with OnLeaks.

According to the leak, the Galaxy A06 has a 6.7-inch screen, likely an HD+ LCD display. The front panel has a U-shaped notch for the front camera. Samsung isn't ready to bring the perforated camera layout to its entry-level devices.

The Galaxy A06 has thick bezels around the screen and a Key Island design on the right side of the bezel. The side fingerprint reader (power button) and volume buttons are located on this raised part. The bottom of the phone has a 3.5mm headphone port, USB Type-C port, speaker and microphone.

On the back of the Galaxy A06 is a dual camera setup with LED flash. The dimensions of the device are 167.3 x 77.9 x 8.0 mm, probably with a plastic frame. According to preliminary reports, the phone will have a MediaTek Helio G85 processor, 6GB of RAM and a 5000mAh battery with 15W fast charging. It may run Android 15 out of the box, but this has not yet been confirmed.

Since the Galaxy A05 was unveiled in September 2023, it is likely that Samsung will announce the Galaxy A06 this September. If that's the case, the phone could run Android 14 out of the box. The company's entry-level phones usually receive 2-3 Android OS updates.
