Xiaomi unveils the first Mijia electric sanding pen (photo)

Xiaomi is expanding its product range with the launch of the first electric sanding pen under the Mijia brand. Suitable for wood carving and jade polishing, this tool features a slim design and a brushless motor that reaches speeds of up to 22,000 rpm.

Here's What We Know

The handle has a diameter of 2 cm, is made of anodised aluminium alloy and weighs approximately 310 g. It is equipped with an 800 mAh lithium battery that provides up to 60 minutes of continuous operation and can also be operated from the mains.

The product has a user-friendly interface with a single control button and speed control. The set includes 16 grinding heads stored in an automatic box. Crowdfunding will start on 31 July with a price tag of 169 yuan ($23). The recommended retail price is 199 yuan ($27).
