X, formerly known as Twitter, is working on a new private message editing (DM) feature. This long-awaited innovation will allow users to correct typos and errors in messages without having to send new ones. Similar functionality is already available in popular messengers such as WhatsApp and Telegram.

Here's What We Know

The development was confirmed by an X employee, noting that the team has just started working on the feature. Although the exact launch date is still unknown, Ilon Musk supported the news by leaving the emoji on the original post. The ability to edit replies has also been discussed, but it's not a priority yet.

The addition of the DM editing feature could greatly improve the user experience on the platform, giving more control and flexibility in communication. However, there are concerns that this could lead to an increase in spam and the creation of fake posts. It is important that there is an edit time stamp to prevent abuse.

Some apps also allow you to completely delete messages, but it's not yet clear if this feature will be available on X. In any case, the innovation promises to make communication on the platform more convenient and understandable.
