Qualcomm unveiled Snapdragon 4s Gen 2: a new 5G processor for budget smartphones

Qualcomm has announced a new mobile chipset - Snapdragon 4s Gen 2.

Here's What We Know

The novelty is built on the 4-nanometre Samsung 4LPX process. The chip has two Kryo Prime (A78) cores with clock speeds up to 2.0 GHz and six Kryo Efficiency (A55) cores with clock speeds up to 1.8 GHz.

The processor comes with an integrated 5G modem and Adreno graphics. The SoC supports 90Hz refresh rate displays with FHD+ resolution, and cameras with a single module up to 84 MP or dual 13 MP + 13 MP sensors. The processor also boasts support for Quick Charge 4+ fast charging technology, Wi-Fi 5, LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage.

When We Can Expect It

The first smartphones with the Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 chip on board will arrive before the end of 2024.
