NASA to shut down NASA TV in August 2024 in favour of more popular NASA+ streaming service

NASA will switch off its cable channel NASA TV in August 2024, focusing its attention on a new streaming service, NASA+. The move comes as the streaming service has gained four times as many viewers as the traditional channel.

Here's What We Know

NASA+ will become the main platform for documentaries and live broadcasts of the agency's events.

NASA+ is completely free and ad-free. It can be accessed through mobile apps for iOS and Android, as well as through Roku, Apple TV and Fire TV. To watch on a computer, users can visit the official NASA+ website.

NASA also announced new shows, including the documentaries Planetary Defenders and Our Alien Earth.
