Motorola Edge 50: smartphone with MIL-STD810H/IP68 protection, 120Hz POLED screen and Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 Accelerated Edition chip

Motorola, as promised, has unveiled a new smartphone in India.

Here's What We Know

We are talking about the Motorola Edge 50 model. The novelty boasts protection against shocks according to the military standard MIL-STD810H. In addition, the device has received IP68 certification.

The gadget comes with a POLED screen of 6.67 inches. The panel has a 1.5K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection and a peak brightness of 1900 nits. The smartphone is powered by a Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 Accelerated Edition processor paired with a cooling system, 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB UFS 2.2 storage.

The Motorola Edge 50 is powered by a 5,000mAh battery. The gadget supports 68W fast wired charging and 15W wireless charging. The novelty has an under-screen fingerprint scanner, stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, a 50 MP main camera (Sony LYT-700C) + 13 MP (wide-angle lens) + 10 MP (telephoto lens) and a 32 MP front camera. Out of the box, the smartphone runs Android 14 operating system.

Price & When We Can Expect It

Motorola Edge 50 sales will start in India on 8 August for $335. The novelty will be available in three colours: Jungle Green, Pantone Peach Fuzz and Koala Grey. The gadget will be available in other countries later.
