Deputy Defence Minister of Ukraine Dmytro Klimenkov said at a press conference on Wednesday, 31 July, that 80 per cent of logistics procurement and 70 per cent of weapons procurement are provided by Ukrainian companies.

Here's What We Know

Klimenkov stressed that bulletproof vests are the most problematic item for procurement.

"We have high requirements of the sixth class. We are currently working with the logistics team to expand the range. NATO uses the fourth class, we use the sixth class," he explained.

The official also noted that, unfortunately, Ukrainian manufacturers' facilities are not yet able to produce the required number of bulletproof vests. Moreover, they are also hard to find abroad.

It is worth noting that during the press conference, the Ministry of Defence presented the PartnerMOD platform, which is designed to facilitate the defence procurement process for manufacturers and suppliers of logistics equipment to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"Thanks to this site, you can see the rules - what documents need to be submitted, what are the technical requirements for the product, what needs to be changed in the product to enable it to participate in the auction," Klimenkov said.
