Ukraine's defence industry, in cooperation with international partners, is capable of producing more than three million drones a year.

Here's What We Know

Deputy Minister for Strategic Industries and Industry of Ukraine Anna Hvozdyar said during the Brave1 Precision hackathon that "we have quite large production capacities, we can produce more than three million drones of various types today. To do this, we need funding."

She also added that Ukraine can cover only a part of these needs, with the rest being covered by foreign partners.

For example, it has recently become known that Canada has agreed to purchase some Ukrainian-made drones for the Ukrainian Defence Forces. Negotiations are also underway with other countries, including the United Kingdom.

"We have developed sufficiently at the expense of both public and private capacities in terms of various types of products for drones. With more than a million drones, it is clear that they need more than a million rounds of ammunition," explained Hvozdar.

Currently, the Ministry of Defence is developing a line of UAVs with ammunition that the Ukrainian army needs. The issue of their unification will be discussed next.
