Analyst: release of first foldable iPads and iPhones delayed until 2026

The year 2024 is on the calendar, and Apple still doesn't have a single foldable device in its range. And there won't be any in the near future either. According to a fresh analyst report, the first gadgets with flexible screens are expected in 2026.

Here's What We Know

Earlier, Haitong analyst Jeff Pu reported that Apple's first foldable devices will go into mass production in 2025. He has now tweaked that timeline and said that the company's timeline has changed and Apple will enter the foldable device market in the second quarter of 2026 due to "display durability issues."

The company's pioneering device will be some sort of tablet and laptop hybrid with an 18.8-inch screen when unfolded. It is its release scheduled for the second quarter of 2026. That is, of course, if nothing changes before then.

On top of that, near the end of 2026, Apple should finally show off its first foldable iPhone.

The report has no other new details about the two devices other than their expected release dates.
